About VistaDB Software, Inc.
VistaDB Software, Inc. was founded in March 2007 as part of the
acquisition of the VistaDB assets from Vista Software. VistaDB Software,
Inc. is dedicated to the advancement of the VDB TSQL database engine into the
fully managed desktop marketplace for developers.
Previously the software had been developed by Vista Software since 1997.
Our team of senior software engineers have extensive experience designing
and developing commercial database engines and this experience is reflected
deeply in our products. Our database software is used by thousands of
developers worldwide and our technology has been licensed by such prominent
companies as CyberSavvy, Telligent, Kodak, UPS, and Computer Associates.
Mission
Our mission is to build the world's best embedded TSQL desktop database engine
solution for .NET application developers. We want to provide
developers with a lightweight, fully managed desktop alternative to SQL
Server Express and SQL CE. A key part of our strategy is to avoid locking users into our
database (honest). If you later decide you need SQL Server Express or SQL CE for
scalability or as an option in your product we make it very easy to upsize
your application. Our TSQL syntax is highly compatible with SQL Server
2005.
We continue to work with Microsoft on the future of database standards and
to maintain the highest level of functionality with Microsoft development
environments possible. We are currently preparing a LINQ Entity Framework
provider as a part of our commitment to our customers to give them the power to choose how and when to deploy their
databases. The Entity Framework is a brand new framework from
Microsoft for Visual Studio 2008 SP1.
Industry Support
We work closely with leading software companies in our industry to ensure that VistaDB is fully compatible with their platforms and development tools. We are a Microsoft Certified ISV and Visual Studio Industry Partner.
