Here is a quick list of 10 things you probably didn't know about VistaDB. Maybe you don't care, but I thought it was sort of fun to compile the list.
In the two years since I acquired VistaDB the following statements are all true. Let this be a lesson to any of you who think being a MicroISV is easy.
- 170+ Blogposts = 6 / month
- 3000+ Forum Posts (Jason) = 4 / Day Average
- Answered 5000+ Emails = 7 emails / day
- 63 Builds = Build / 10 days
- 2400+ Tickets = 3 Tickets / Day
- Trial Downloads = 24,311
- Express Downloads = 13,518
- Runtimes distributed by customers = 250,000+ (from user surveys)
- Total bytes served (VistaDB.Net) = 18.7 Terrabytes
- Total pages served (VistaDB.Net) = 4.7 Million
Notes
Trial downloads were not tracked until Sep 2007, so they are actually higher.
The runtimes distributed by customers is from our Nov 2007 and Nov 2008 customer polls combined. 250,000 runtimes is no number to sneeze at, I am quite proud of that fact. It also shows that our customers ship products with VistaDB, not just desktop tools for their local use.
I should have kept track of hours on the phone, number of calls, etc, but I didn't.
Interesting?
I thought it was fun to write them up.
