New CLR Procs™ and Views added to VistaDB 3.0

October 11th, 2006

VistaDB 3.0 reaches a new milestone with this latest update that introduces full support for Views and our new CLR Procs™ technology. Both of these powerful new database features bring 3.0 closer to final release.

Developers can now create CLR Procs, which are managed .NET assemblies using C# or VB.NET, that contain methods to manage VistaDB data. Register these CLR Proc assemblies with your VistaDB 3.0 databases and feel the power! These powerful procedures are more powerful and easier to debug than traditional stored procedures.

VistaDB 3.0's new support for Views means that you can write SQL statements to create virtual views of data spanning multiple tables. With this new feature, VistaDB 3.0 now supports a full migration of the ubiquitous Northwind database.
