VistaDB is fully relational, ACID Compliant, multi process, transactional, requires zero configuration, and attempts to closely match Microsoft SQL Server for syntax and datatypes. You can deploy ASP.Net websites on shared hosts, even under Medium Trust. VistaDB 2VistaDB 2 was a hybrid managed and unmanaged engine that supported COM, VCL, ODBC and .Net. A desktop engine was initially released, and a Client Server edition was later added. Most of the reviews you read on the Internet, or comparisons, are for VistaDB 2. The engine was totally rewritten when it was moved to the 3.x fully managed codebase. VistaDB 2 is no longer sold or supported. It was officially closed as a product after we took over, and support expired in Jan 2008. We are a new company that acquired the VistaDB intellectual property in March 2007. The 2.x product line was determined to not be cost effective to maintain or update.
