The BDE Edition of the Data Migration Wizard supports additional BDE-related databases including Paradox, dBASE 7 and InterBase (FireBird).

The BDE Edition of the Data Migration Wizard supports connecting to BDE aliases.

Using the regular edition of the Data Migration Wizard, select the database to migrate.

Or you may optionally enter a connection string directly to connect to your database.

The Data Migration Wizard connects to the source database.

All tables, indexes, relationships and data from the source database is opened.

From this step, users can change various attributes of the new VistaDB database before the database gets migrated, such as column names, column types and more.

Items may be selected or unselected for migration.

Indexes may be changed for the new database.

VistaDB supports migrating relationships as well.

Relationships may be updated in this step.

Finally, users may tweak data in the tables of the source database before migration.

The Migration Wizard also support migrating the schema only, so data can optionally be skipped.

The analysis step lets users get a quick review of the proposed migration, before actually migrating.

This step confirms the migration.

The Migration Wizard migrates the data as per the settings in the previous steps, leaving the original database 100% in tact.

Finally, you may view your new VistaDB database. This final step will launch Data Builder to view your new database.
