Take a look at VistaDB, a new, incredibly fast
data access engine built from the ground up for .NET. It's inexpensive, royalty
free, and about 100 times smaller than MSDE. Hurry up and buy VistaDB before
Microsoft buys the company!![]()

All I
can say is WOW! Your product has come a long way. I ran a test yesterday with
VistaDB. I inserted over 400,000 records. The records were being added by 5
different programs on a shared network. Each record contained 36,000
characters. The database grew to 14 GB without a problem or impact to
performance.
All records were inserted using DDA and were completed in about
2 min. I tried a few other test, trying to see if the .VDB database would
become damaged or fail in any way. Your product held up to every stress test I
could throw at it! ![]()

I think
you guys did a really great job developing VistaDB. Of all the engines on the
market, including Advantage DS, MS SQL CEand so on, VistaDB is outstanding.

Ive used VistaDB in some of my applications earlier, and I
must say it works like a charm with its incredibly small footprint, instant
cold-connect and warm-connect.![]()

I have been in this business since 1983 and
have worked from mainframes to all different kinds of databases and languages.
I think with VistaDB you guys have put together all the good things from a lot
of databases. Its so easy to work with VistaDB and I can do a lot more without
coding as much. I am totally sold on VistaDB and will start doing all my
systems in this from now on. Right now I have systems with databases that use
FoxPro, Access, dBase, SQL, DB2, Apollo, Artemis and now VistaDB. None come
close to what you guys have done with VistaDB.

For my needs, Vista DB 2.1 is perfect. The price is just right, it works as
advertized, and the deployment strategy, which they call "Copy 'n Go!
deployment", just, well, works! Not only that, but it's small; about 500KB.
Unlike Sqlite (which doesn't even enforce data type constraints), it fully
supports Sql-92, and, especially for an embedded database product, it actually
feels like a real database.

packed all these features into such a small package!

I just
purchased VistaDB COM edition for traditional ASP. For websites, this dog
hunts! Without the .NET Framework, the database engine is tiny, quick,
boundless, and easy to program. This product is a winner that kicks the snot
out of MSDE, Access, or any other Microsoft database that will run on 2003
Server

I sent
a mean email in the past because I had problems, and I wanted to send you an
email with something good. I had a bit of a learning curve, but I now realize
that I would have had that anyway, because I always used DAO (an old
technology). I am now in the testing and debugging phase of my application and
I wanted to tell you that I really like how well VistaDB performs. I am glad
that I purchased the VistaDB Suite. The thing that I am most happy about is
that my application v1.0 that used access was almost 50 MB due to deploying
mdac files for the host machine to utilize my app, but now my app is not even
10 MB. Since my app is deployed from the web, this is a very big deal to me. I
look forward to purchasing 3.0, and especially VistaDB Server. The power to
have a client/server & local storage application with the small size is a
very big deal in my market. Thank you for a great product.

VistaDB
is a great product! In the past, Ive embedded MSDE in my applications and
although it worked fine, my 100MB download was 90% MSDE. In addition, the
effort to embed MSDE into the single file installation was 90% of the effort to
create the installation. Now, with VistaDB, my 10MB download doesnt scare
off customers and creating an MSI installation took just a few minutes. I only
wish Id found VistaDB earlier.

Overall, VistaDB looks really good.

VistaDB is one of the best kept secrets
in the database market and it is really incredible what you pack into it. I
made some use of it on the desktop to see how it stacks up to the others and
VistaDB, needless to say, is way ahead of the pack with its very small
footprint, fast access time, and really nice Data Builder utility for creating
tables and editing data. VistaDB is a class-A product.

I have written a number of small
applications and I must say this product is a real gem...perharps the best kept
secret in the database industry. I use VB.Net and cannot get a better match for
a language/database combination. Keep up the good work.

I am a C# developer who builds multi-user
business applications under .NET. After using every database imaginable I came
to the conclusion that a perfect database system did not exist. I wasn't asking
for much. All I needed was a system that would 1) run for days, months or years
without a DBA, 2) not require the purchase of a server, 3) be a file based
database system that would not demand much overhead and 4) not cost an arm and
a leg.
So far VistaDB has delivered all this for me and I didn't have
to sell my kidney to buy it. The customer service I have received has been
unmatched by any other company. I look forward to future VistaDB releases.

While
reengineering QuickBooks may not be trivial it certainly wouldn't be at all
difficult to at least put a real database engine under it. And there are any
number of extremely solid shared file database engines out there that are
stable, reliable and have high performance.
Take for instance VistaDB (www.vistadb.net). I just started
using this database engine as part of a rewrite of a commercial product that I
produce and sell. Incredibly fast, totally stable with 50 clients hitting on a
small (20MB) database incessantly and damn near free at around $300 with
unlimited distribution rights. It uses the same shared file /
"engine-on-the-client" approach as QuickBooks currently does.

VISTADB! We have been using Apollo for several years and have been waiting for
a product like VistaDB. We needed VistaDB's VCL VDBTable to be compatible with
Digital-Metaphors Report Generator. We use their ExtraDevices control to
generate reports in PDF format for our sales offices. We are happy to report
that VistaDB has passed with flying colors. We are very pleased.
