I'm ecstatic ... I downloaded the trial version and in about 10 minutes built the
report in VisualStudio that I have been trying to get for months from the developer
of [product].

Thanks for making my life a whole lot simpler (as far as programming goes). Building
a 32/64bit app would really be a pain in the a** and also the end user would take
the brunt of downloading MSSQL Server too... So I guess we both thank you.

After two weeks of fighting MS SQl CE, Firebird, and SQLite. I found your product.
I had it running in 20 minutes and can switch between SQl and a single file VistaDb
file. I was amazed that everything just worked and worked well. The only thing I
had to tweak was my stored procedures to include ";" so multiple procedures would
run in a single execution.

I've been managing distributed Client/Server applications for many years now and
have experienced all the pitfalls of the different database engines available. SQL
Server has always been overkill and puts too much burden on small business who wish
to have only a few users connecting to a shared database so I've always ended up
having use both Access AND SQL Server in the same code base with only a very small
percentage using SQL. The biggest challenge has always been MDAC issues on the client
because all it takes is for one other application to incorrectly install MDAC to
kill the engine. I've been looking for the 'perfect database' to use with a new
application.
I decided to go with VistaDB this time and we've not received a single issue with
database connectivity! This has always been a big support cost and VistaDB
has saved us a tremendous amount of time and money. Thanks to your team for creating
such an excellent product for companies like us that needed to find the middle ground
between Access and SQL.
Mike Allen, CTO, Fed Reporter, Inc.
After having spent over 150 hours last year on SQL Server Express setup issues with
my customers I decided enough was enough. Since switching to VistaDB I have experienced
exactly ONE customer deployment issue (and they were just out of disk space!). Thanks
for taking those problems away.

Astrata has been
developing with VistaDB with great success. It is a brilliant product in all respects
cost, deployment size, performance and reliability.

You guys did a great job and made a state of the art piece of software.

Awesome work be the most impressive zero-administration embedded database I've ever
seen! Thanks!

All I can say is
WOW! Your product has come a long way. I ran a test yesterday with VistaDB. I inserted
over 400,000 records. The records were being added by 5 different programs on a
shared network. Each record contained 36,000 characters. The database grew to 14
GB without a problem or impact to performance.
All records were inserted using DDA and were completed in about 2 min. I tried a
few other test, trying to see if the database would become damaged or fail in any
way. Your product held up to every stress test I could throw at it!

I think you guys
did a really great job developing VistaDB. Of all the engines on the market, including
Advantage DS, MS SQL CE and so on, VistaDB is outstanding.

Leo Somers, Aura Software
Ive used VistaDB
in some of my applications earlier, and I must say it works like a charm with its
incredibly small footprint, instant cold-connect and warm-connect.
Brajesh Sachan, Reverberations Blog
Congratulations to the team on a great product. I've been using VistaDB for a week
now and I love its zero configuration capability.

I have been in this business since 1983 and have worked from mainframes to all different
kinds of databases and languages. I think with VistaDB you guys have put together
all the good things from a lot of databases. Its so easy to work with VistaDB and
I can do a lot more without coding as much. I am totally sold on VistaDB and will
start doing all my systems in this from now on. Right now I have systems with databases
that use FoxPro, Access, dBase, SQL, DB2, Apollo, Artemis and now VistaDB. None
come close to what you guys have done with VistaDB.

Sunil Prasad
I must say your product is superb!!! We just love it.

Trond Nahlin, ConnectIT AS
VistaDB is amazing. I have no idea how you've packed all these features into such
a small package!

I sent a mean email
in the past because I had problems, and I wanted to send you an email with something
good. I had a bit of a learning curve, but I now realize that I would have had that
anyway, because I always used DAO (an old technology). I am now in the testing and
debugging phase of my application and I wanted to tell you that I really like how
well VistaDB performs. I am glad that I purchased the VistaDB Suite. The thing that
I am most happy about is that my application v1.0 that used access was almost 50
MB due to deploying mdac files for the host machine to utilize my app, but now my
app is not even 10 MB. Since my app is deployed from the web, this is a very big
deal to me. Thank you for a great product.

Ben Gehring
VistaDB is the database for the future. Many more new features, much simplicity
and better performance over SQL CE.

Frank Macall
VistaDB is a great
product! In the past, Ive embedded MSDE in my applications and although it
worked fine, my 100MB download was 90% MSDE. In addition, the effort to embed MSDE
into the single file installation was 90% of the effort to create the installation.
Now, with VistaDB, my 10MB download doesnt scare off customers and creating
an MSI installation took just a few minutes. I only wish Id found VistaDB
earlier.

Lloyd Johnson
I am very excited
about using VistaDB. I successfully converted my database from SQL Server to VistaDB
on the first try. This is refreshing for new software. Overall, VistaDB looks really
good.

Greg Larden
Awesome product!

Kevin Huck
An excellent alternative
to SQL CE. Small XCopy deployment, multi user across a network drive, and memory
databases! What more could you ask for?

VistaDB is one of the best kept secrets in the database market and it is really
incredible what you pack into it. I made some use of it on the desktop to see how
it stacks up to the others and VistaDB, needless to say, is way ahead of the pack
with its very small footprint, fast access time, and really nice Data Builder utility
for creating tables and editing data. VistaDB is a class-A product.

Peter H. Scott
I have been an owner
of VistaDB since RC1 and I am very happy with the product. I have been using SQL
Server for years.

Peter Akos
I have written a number of small applications and I must say this product is a real
gem...perhaps the best kept secret in the database industry. I use VB.Net and cannot
get a better match for a language/database combination. Keep up the good work.

Theo Charalambous
I am a C# developer who builds multi-user business applications under .NET. After
using every database imaginable I came to the conclusion that a perfect database
system did not exist. I wasn't asking for much. All I needed was a system that would
1) run for days, months or years without a DBA, 2) not require the purchase of a
server, 3) be a file based database system that would not demand much overhead and
4) not cost an arm and a leg.
So far VistaDB has delivered all this for me and I didn't have to sell my kidney
to buy it. The customer service I have received has been unmatched by any other
company. I look forward to future VistaDB releases.

While reengineering
QuickBooks may not be trivial it certainly wouldn't be at all difficult to at least
put a real database engine under it. And there are any number of extremely solid
shared file database engines out there that are stable, reliable and have high performance.
Take for instance VistaDB. I just started using this database engine as part of
a rewrite of a commercial product that I produce and sell. Incredibly fast, totally
stable with 50 clients hitting on a small (20MB) database incessantly and damn near
free with unlimited distribution rights. It uses the same shared file / "engine-on-the-client"
approach as QuickBooks currently does.

I saw your message in the ADO.NET newsgroup and it prompted me to realize that it
has been a year since I first got in touch with you about VistaDB. We are very happy
with our choice of VistaDB as the database behind the next version of our system,
TesioPower.

I had a chance to
start a project from scratch with VistaDB and it dramatically reduced the number
of database support issues we receive (mdac hell!!!). Thank you and your team for
doing a great job!

Mike Allen
BTW - you have a GREAT product - I wrestled many, many hours/days trying to find
a replacement to Access/Jet so that I could offer support on 64-bit platforms -
I tried SQL CE(too slow) and SQL Express (GIANT install, maintenance, support NIGHTMARE).
I'd recommend your product to anyone trying to do the same

David from 5MinutePhoto
Take a look at VistaDB, a new, incredibly fast data access engine built from the
ground up for .NET. It's inexpensive, royalty free, and about 100 times smaller
than MSDE. Hurry up and buy VistaDB before Microsoft buys the company!
