Third Party ToolsVistaDB is a fully compliant ADO.NET 2 provider factory. This means any application that knows how to take advantage of Dot Net Provider Factories can use VistaDB. Provider Factories are how you write database agnostic code in .NET. Some applications (like Crystal Reports) also accept strongly typed datasets from your code. You can generate the strongly typed dataset in Visual Studio and then reference it from the application. |

The product includes the ability to add trace listeners, log4net, and custom metric recording through custom code. They were also nice enough to write a blog about how VistaDB helped solve their business needs and do things they didn't think they could do without a server. We also wrote a blog about Gibraltar for logging customer experiences. This was during their beta cycle. They have since released and improved the product even more. |
